The Swimmers - Miles From Our Fear
The Swimmers - tonight @ the Khyber
Heading down in an hour to see the some shows in Philly tonight. The Swimmers are one of the must see shows of the evening. The other being the Capitol Years. We are obsessed with the new band The Swimmers. Very shins and spoon, with a little zombies thrown in for shits and giggles. Check out this brand new track.

Seabear - Singing Arc

From the Seabear Website:
"used to be one now we are three. spent the money we got paid to play on instruments in germany. working on a new album in a studio thats in a book company down the stairs pass the photography studio in a basement that smells weird with apple cartons on the walls. we've been asked if me and guggy are brother and sister and if örn is our crazy uncle. maybe. we've been asked what kind of music we play and we dont know that either. nothing that starts with post though im sure. i know the new album sounds more cowboy than the last and i like it more. we've played a few concerts. some felt good and others bad. you can see for yourself on www.youtube.com if you look up 'seabear' live aus germany. Danielson - Ships

Danielson - Ships
The sixth and most accessible album to date, featuring a star-studded cast of players including Deerhoof, Sufjan Stevens, Sereena-Maneesh, and more. What began as a senior thesis project a decade ago has evolved into a musical world so rich with musicality and merrymaking that the first six albums and ten years of touring pomp alone could nourish the most scrutinizing of thrill-seekers. There's no hard distinction between the visuals (costumes and graphics) and the music from this suburban New Jersey group.

Thrilladelphia 3

Thrilladelphia 3 ~ April 21-29
The brainchild of up and coming PR genius Jeff Anderson. Thrilladelphia is a mini-SXSW of sorts, with a lot of more of the spirit that was missing in Austin last month. This will be the 3rd annual festival in Philadelphia under the creative Thrilladelphia title. We are grateful for getting full access to video tape and cover the week long festival. It takes place with an opening night party Friday April 21 (venue and bands TBA), and goes through April 28th. The band line-up this year is as impressive as ever. We'll be posting MP3s from the performers on this years line-up all week long. Email us for more info.

Built To Spill - You In Reverse

Built To Spill - You In Reverse
Built to Spill is one of the first great indie pop bands. Fusing elements of pop, post-punk, and progressive rock with a distinctively enigmatic vocal melody, the group's sound helped influence many of today's current bands from the Shins to Wolf Parade. Built to Spill taught bands to break the rules...You don't have to have a great voice and you don't have to be brilliant, if the emotion is honest. And it works for them. You in Reverse is what we love best about Built to Spill a medley of perfect pop songs spiraling into extended jams, filled with dissonance and dark themes, passion and regret, happiness and complacency. This album is the ultimate road trip soundtrack, and a perfect accompaniment to life in general.

Morrissey - Ringleader Of The Tormentors

Morrissey - Ringleader Of The Tormentors
Morrissey has once again delivered an album fraught with self-deprecation, infatuation, and personal agony. The irony of Morrissey is that he makes despairing loneliness and misery fun. Perhaps this is because most of us can relate to the emotion on a basic level, even if Morrissey's problems are a little extreme. Ringleader of the Tormentors is a good album. It lacks the earnest intimacy of 2004's "You are the Quarry," but overall the songs are solid and emotionally strong. As usual, Moz's vocal abilities are unbelievable, and the melodies are captivating. I'm glad to see Morrissey's creative energy remaining steady after so many years. It's bound to waver a little, but if this is the low point, we're doing pretty damn good.

Bushwick Art Project Fundraiser April 2006
Bushwick Art Project Fundraiser 2006
A last minute venue change did not hurt the Bushwick Art Project Fundraiser. The venue change helped us, as it moved it within walking distance. Good crowd, lots of video screens, Multiple Rooms of various music styles, various art pieces hanging from the walls, bathrooms with no locks, stiff drinks, and a party until 6 am. Great job to anyone who contributed to this event. We look forward to the summer Fundraiser. Enjoy the video clips.
