The songs were recorded in private for her own personal use, and weren't released until 2006 when her son wanted to share his mothers music with the world. As far as folk music is concerned this album is essential, and succeeds in simple beautiful melancholy.

The sparse instrumentation, and moody backing music sets the tone for Hope's perfect lead vocals. Her voice is used to blend in with the other sounds on the song, and not to rise over them. The results are breathtaking....
